Rockhampton Regional Council’s Water Committee today recommended Council seek Expressions of Interest for the use of recycled water from South Rockhampton Sewerage Treatment Plant (SRSTP).
Water Committee Chair, Cr Greg Belz said he was proud of Fitzroy River Water’s efforts to reduce its environmental impact.
Cr Belz said the time is now right to call for Expressions of Interest to reaffirm the interest in the use of recycled water so a viable scheme could be developed.
This matter will go before the full Council Meeting for consideration on Tuesday 23 February 2010.
