Councils Water Treatment Plant upgrade minimises environmental impact

In a significant step towards reducing the environmental impact of its water and sewerage services, Rockhampton Regional Council is upgrading the Glenmore Water Treatment Plant to strengthen its control over the quality of water discharged from the plant.

 

Chair of Council’s Water Committee, Cr Greg Belz said Fitzroy River Water has called for tenders for the redevelopment and upgrade of the Glenmore Water Treatment Plant Sludge Lagoons.

 

Cr Belz said this will be a significant environmental step forward to improve the control over the quality of process waters released to the Fitzroy River.
