Fitzroy River Water’s (FRW) extensive electrical upgrade works at the South Rockhampton Sewerage Treatment Plant (SRSTP) reached an important environmental goal with the installation of the new electrical switch room.

Chair of Rockhampton Regional Council’s Water Committee, Cr Greg Belz said new efficiency measures incorporated in the new switchboard will contribute to a reduction of in excess of 120 tonnes of greenhouse gases per year.

“This $2,003,689 investment is part of Fitzroy River Water’s ongoing commitment to ensure all sewerage plants are maintained in a reliable and efficient operating condition, while minimising our environmental footprint,” Cr Belz said.

“This electrical upgrade at the SRSTP is part of FRW’s constant planning to build and maintain modern, effective sewer systems across the region for current and future generations,” he said.
