Water Quality

Fitzroy River Water advises residents that salinity levels are within the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines set by the National Health and Medical Research Council. Read Water Quality Factsheet. View current drinking water quality.


Concerns in relation to the potential health impacts of the increased salinity in the Fitzroy River should be directed to the responsible agency Queensland Health for advice. Read Queensland Health Media Response.

Department of Environment and Resource Management which is responsible for the water in the Fitzroy River.
